Top Tech to add to Your Baby Registry

It’s the year 2023, so naturally, all things tech are running our lives. If you’re like me, wherever you’re sitting right now some smart device (or 2 or 3) is within an arm’s reach of you. And while we could talk all day about the ways technology has changed things–for better or worse–the truth is, it’s made so many things so much easier. I am wildly grateful that I started having kids in the 2020s.

It’s opened up an immense world of wonder when it comes to technologically savvy gear and products, most of which have made my life as a new mom quite nice.

My best friend is due with her first at the end of this summer and she came to me (seasoned mom of 2 under 2) for all the things she should add to her registry. When I started suggesting items, she instantly gravitated towards the ones that were the techiest. “Oh I can connect it to my phone?! Sold!” And I have a feeling that’s how so many of us are. Looking for ways to integrate the products we use daily and streamline all the parts of our lives that call for our attention constantly.

Because of that, I’ve gathered a list of the Top Tech Products to add to your baby registry this year. You can think of me as your best friend, the one you’ve come to in search of the best items for your registry when you have no clue where to start. I promise I’ll give the same seasoned advice I gave my own best friend earlier this month.

Top Tech to add to Your Baby Registry

Hatch Rest Sound Machine (and Rest Go)

Hatch has made the sound machine even more of a dream tool than it already was. It connects to your phone via bluetooth so you can control the sound and volume no matter where you are. It also acts as a nightlight (with a dimmer setting that lets you have soft light during late-night diaper changes and feedings) and one day, when your baby has grown into a toddler, it can be used as an “okay-to-wake” clock that signals they can get out of bed when a certain color comes up. And you can also take those soothing sleeps sounds on the go with the new Hatch Rest Go; attach it to your stroller or portable crib to ensure that same peaceful sleep while you’re away from home.

Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor

The Nanit Pro smart baby monitor is the tech you definitely need on your baby registry. The camera mounts to the wall above the baby’s crib and provides you with a bird’s eye view of baby no matter where you are because it all connects to your phone. You’ll be able to have 2-way communication, see the temperature and humidity of the nursery and check in on your baby’s sleep stats each morning.

Owlet Smart Sock Wearable Baby Monitor

While we’re on the topic of techy and innovative baby monitors, we’d be remiss not to mention the Owlet Smart Sock. Simply velcro this little sock to your baby’s foot before you lay them down for bed and you’ll be able to track their sleep patterns, heart rate and oxygen levels. You can view all these vital signs through a convenient app on your phone throughout the day and into the night. Gone are the moments of laying a baby in their crib and listening intently for the sound of their breathing. You’ll have peace of mind and a good night’s sleep thanks to Owlet.

4Moms Mamaroo Multi-Motion Baby Swing

I can’t imagine life without this sweet swing. It’s the perfect place to lay baby and ensure that they’re not only comfortable, but soothed. It’s got 5 different swing settings (with options like “car ride”, which is perfect for my little one who absolutely LOVES the car) and 4 built in sounds that can act like a sound machine. Plus, you guessed it, it all connects to your phone via bluetooth where you can control the speed, the setting and the music or sound that’s playing. (Even play your own music!)

Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad

A changing pad is a no brainer addition to your baby registry. But why not take it up a notch with this Smart Changing Pad by Hatch? It not only provides a (wipeable) surface for you to lay your baby down for a diaper change, it also has built in technology that acts as a scale. It can easily measure your baby’s weight up to 60 lbs. giving you the confidence every young mom needs. This changing pad can connect to your phone to track growth and provide you with a growth chart.

Happiest Baby SNOO Smart Sleeper Bassinet

The SNOO Smart Bassinet will keep baby soothed and dreaming through bedtime and naps. This smart bassinet senses fussiness and responds by soothing your baby with gentle rocking motions and sounds. It includes the smart sleeper which keep baby safely swaddled in the center of the mattress, away from the breathable mesh walls. Adjust the settings and monitor sleep patterns from the app on your phone.

Ember Mug

While this might not be a necessity for baby, it is definitely something I think every new mom deserves. The Ember coffee mug is a smart mug that keeps your coffee at an ideal drinking temperature. You won’t have to reheat your coffee cup 5 times throughout the morning with this mug. Instead, you’ll be able to quickly and easily control the temperature right from your phone!
