Ask Cheryl: How Do I Share My Wedding Registry?

Hi Cheryl,

How do I share my wedding registry with our friends and family? I want to make sure they know where we’re registered.

Thanks,

Brenda

Hi Brenda,

When it comes to informing your family and friends where you are registered, of course, we hope you will tell them to find you on RegistryFinder.com.

It’s best etiquette to wait until someone asks about your registries before sharing your list or preferences. But here are a few tips to help you spread the word.

For a Bridal or Baby Shower

If someone offers to give you a wedding or baby shower, ask them to include your registries on the shower invitation. They can print the registry information on a separate insert or directly on the back or front of the  invitation.

You can also include the direct link to all your registries at RegistryFinder.com. Here’s how to find it: Search your name at RegistryFinder.com. When you find your result, you can get a direct link to all of your registries in one place. Simply click on “Copy Registry Link to Share” right under the list of registries.

After clicking, you will see this:

This link can be used on your wedding website or any electronic invitations such as Evites and Paperless Post.

Do not share your registries via social media; it’s tempting, but tacky. If some DM’s you and ask, then you can answer with a private message.

Do not share your registries via Social Media.

For Your Wedding

For a wedding, include your registry information on your wedding website. You can also add your wedding website to your save-the-date cards. Do not include your registry information on the save-the-dates and never include registry information or even the mention of gifts on your wedding invitations.

Word of Mouth

Make sure your closest friends and family know where you are registered if someone asks them.
